Safe Driving Tips for First Time Drivers

You may have been to driver’s education. You passed and got your learners permit. Once you finally got your license you've been itching to get out on the road by yourself for the first time. That's exciting. Your parents may have preached to you the value of being safe on the road. They're right. Here are a few of the things you can do to keep yourself safe:

No cell phones. Keep them off while you drive. The temptation to talk on them while you’re a novice driver is too great. Texting is not even a consideration. This can be an extremely dangerous distraction while driving.

With all eyes on the road, keep a safe distance from other vehicles and expect them to be the ones who are going to make a mistake. Use all your turn signals when making lane changes and turning corners.

One mistake is all it takes. Make sure the vehicle you are driving is also current on its maintenance. We can be contacted here at DCH Audi Oxnard in Oxnard, CA, and an appointment can be made to look over your vehicle.
